Are my eyes seeing this right? Apparently so this is the new title of Neuroscientist Will Clower, Ph. D book. According to his theory if we eat chocolate 20 minutes before and 5 minutes after lunch and dinner it will cut your appetite by up to 50 per cent.
Let’s dig deeper!
A study carried out by the University of L’Aquila in Italy people who ate a chocolate bar’s worth of dark chocolate once per day for around 15 days showed a reduced rate of insulin resistance by almost 50 per cent. According to some researchers Flavonoids found in foods help reduce insulin resistance. Sue Decotiis M.D weight loss specialist and board- certified internist notes that dark chocolate contains healthy fats which slow the absorption of sugar into the blood stream.. That helps prevent insulin spike, which is famed for shuttling sugar straight into your fat cells. According to her research “Insulin Spikes” turn off the body’s fat burning mechanism and make you hungry again. This is why when eating chocolate we always feel the need to want more several hours later. Over time this can lead to diabetes.
Opposed to the Swiss research carried out who found that dark chocolate reduces metabolic effects of stress. This research came from the University of Copenhagen who have shown that dark chocolate curbs cravings of sweet, salty and fatty foods.
Now you may be thinking that you can now go ahead with eating as much chocolate as you want however you are wrong. This research has been carried out on dark chocolate only. White and milk chocolate contain added sugar and milk opposed to dark chocolate that has a bittersweet taste that reduced the amount you eat. Plus eating more than let’s say the end of your thumb could overload you on sugar and fat and like mother use to say “ You will ruin your dinner”
